Why We’re Planting a Church

I posted this at the Liberty Grace Church blog a few months back, but it’s probably worth repeating here.

These are not the reasons we’re planting a church:

  • because it’s cool
  • as a protest against the established church
  • as a form of self-expression
  • to prove myself
  • to make a fresh start

If I planted for these reasons, I would quit in no time.

These are the reasons why we’re planting a church:

  • for God’s glory
  • for the thousands of people who need to hear about Jesus

Whenever I begin to waver, I remind myself why we’re planting a church.

By the way, we’re holding a prayer walk on Sunday. I’d love to have you join us.
