How to Cope with Not Attending T4G 2012

My Twitter and RSS feeds are starting to fill with updates of people who are attending T4G this week. It’s easy to feel left out if you’re not attending. I’m here to help.

I honestly have a love/hate relationship with huge conferences like this. I love the music, workshops, great preaching, and the books. And I love meeting people I rarely see. But I find the crowds overwhelming, and it always feels like too much of a good thing by the time it’s done.

Here are some things that may help you as you don’t attend T4G this week:

  • Remind yourself that “New audio and video from T4G ’12 will be posted each day during the event” that you can watch comfortably from your living room at home.
  • Every time you start thinking about the massive bookstore, remind yourself that you have an even bigger one at your fingertips.
  • Pray for those attending. It’s hard to envy the people for whom you’re praying.

If you’re going to T4G, have a great time. If you’re not going, then join me in having a great time not attending to the glory of God.
