Relate Without Visible Strength

Relate Without Visible Strength

I found this quote from Jack Miller interesting, especially since Richview is beginning a ministry to at-risk children and their families in our local community. Very good advice – and it goes far beyond appearance.

Reflect on how you appear to the people of this town and ask God to show you ways to relate to them without visible strength – even to the point of seeming dependent on them. One way to do this is to get to know key people in town, make friends, honor them, etc. Now I realize you are probably doing this ten times as much already as I am suggesting. But there is always more…Rely on the Spirit! (p.161)

It’s really hard to serve others from a position of self-perceived superiority.
