Missional Church Workshop

Journey Toward the Heart of God
Leadership workshop by Milfred Minatrea
May 27, 2006, from 9:00 AM 4:00 PM
Bramalea Baptist Church, 9050 Dixie Road, Brampton Ontario

Explore how God is reshaping His church for mission by participating in Journey toward the Heart of God on May 27, 2006 from 9:00 AM 4:00 PM. This conference is for all disciples who long to experience Christ’s Kingdom impact in their generation.

Led by Milfred Minatrea, author of Shaped by Gods Heart: The Passion and Practices of Missional Churches, this workshop is designed for pastors, lay leaders and hungry-hearted disciples who are desire something more than maintaining status quo religion.

Participants will:

  • Gain insights from churches whose members hold one another accountable for living as authentic disciples of Christ
  • Examine the distinctive passion and practices of missional churches; those shaped by Gods heart
  • Participate in practical exercises that spark new understanding of corporate behaviors that must be adapted if any church is to become Gods missional Body
  • Develop a framework for ongoing relationships with other pastors who want to lead their congregations in the journey toward becoming missional.

The move from maintenance to missional can occur only when pastors and leaders deal realistically with the nature of the church and the true challenges of discipleship. It will not happen over night. Change from a survival or maintenance mindset to a missional mindset requires a genuine change in culture. But it is possible. It is happening. And it can happen in your congregation.

Around the world, God is moving His church to new levels of involvement in His mission. David Bosch reminds us, “There is a church because there is a mission, not vice versa”. A fresh wind of Gods Spirit is leading churches to reclaim His mission as the only reason for their existence. They are more than mission-minded churches, they are becoming missional communities.

A missional church is a reproducing community of authentic disciples being equipped as missionaries sent by God to live and proclaim His Kingdom in their world.

Space is limited. Register no later than May 20 by e-mailing missional AT eastridge.ca or phoning 905-640-3911.
