Introducing Gospel for Life Podcast

Hey, my name is Darryl Dash, a pastor and author living in Toronto, Canada. And I’d like to welcome you to the Gospel for Life podcast.

This podcast is going to be all about churches making disciples. It’s all about the task that Jesus has given us. I love how J.T. English puts it in his book Deep Discipleship:

We see that we are losing market share in the world of ideas and in the rhythms of people’s everyday lives…

We are on our heels, and we just want the bleeding to stop, so we have lowered the bar, and we have settled for a lowest-common-denominator discipleship.

Unfortunately, I believe many of us have misdiagnosed the disease and are mistreating the church. Our ministry disease is not that the evangelical church is too deep, but that it is far too shallow … We are treating the symptoms of the wrong disease. Deep discipleship is about giving people more Bible, not less; more theology, not less; more spiritual disciplines, not less; more gospel, not less; more Christ, not less.

And so I want to look at how we can go deep, how we can raise the bar instead of lowering it, and how we can see our people formed into spiritual maturity.

I want to talk to some of the people who are thinking about how to do this. And so I’ve got some exciting guests lined up, and I can’t wait to share them with you. Our first official episode should be dropping on Monday, February 8.
