# 24 Hours in New York

I’ve always wanted to live in New York City for at least a year. I got 1/365th of the way there this weekend. Turns out you can do a lot in 24 hours. We checked into our hotel at 2:19 p.m. on Saturday and:

- shopped on [Fifth Avenue](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fifth%5FAvenue?ref=dashhouse.com)
- walked through part of [Central Park](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central%5Fpark?ref=dashhouse.com)
- visited [Times Square](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Times%5Fsquare?ref=dashhouse.com)
- took the [Staten Island Ferry](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staten%5FIsland%5FFerry?ref=dashhouse.com)
- walked around [Rockefeller Center](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockefeller%5FCenter?ref=dashhouse.com)
- ordered food from the [Mint Fine Indian Restaurant](http://mintny.com/?ref=dashhouse.com)
- slept at the [Waldorf-Astoria](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waldorf%5FAstoria?ref=dashhouse.com) (but passed on the $95 Sunday brunch)
- had a great walk up [Park Avenue](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Park%5FAvenue?ref=dashhouse.com)
- attended a service at [Redeemer Presbyterian Church](http://redeemer.com/?ref=dashhouse.com)
- took the [Roosevelt Island Tram](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roosevelt%5FIsland%5FTram?ref=dashhouse.com)

Not bad given we mostly walked and had two kids in tow!

And we checked out at 2:10 p.m. on Sunday, home by midnight. Mission accomplished: Charlene can now see living there. Next time we’re staying longer.
