# Navigating the church in a perfect storm

My first column in [*ChristianWeek*](http://christianweek.org/opinions/issues/1924%5Fissues.html?ref=dashhouse.com) is up:

> This is not the easiest time to be a Christian leader. Three realities have converged to make this a perfect storm for the Church in Canada…Christendom has ended, the culture is shifting and many of our churches are ill-equipped to face these challenges.

But, I argue, there is lots of room for hope.

It even includes a typo that made it into the print edition: “Lyle Schaller, a church consultant and author of *humorous* \[should be *numerous*\] books on church life…” – but I have to admit it’s kind of funny.
