We sometimes come to communion feeling like failures. We feel like God is saying, “I know what you’ve done.”

The Bible is realistic about our condition (Romans 7). Despite this, God still says, “No Condemnation!” (Romans 8:1)

**Why**? Sin was condemned and executed at the cross.

**How**? (v.3)

1\. God sent his own Son – he didn’t send someone else; he came in person – problem in a restaurant

2\. He identified with us – difficulty of identifying with sin (Brian Nichols); white wedding dress

3\. He condemned sin in Jesus – sin-sacrifice for those who had committed sin knowingly or unknowingly

All our claims of condemnation are now invalid.

### Heidelberg Catechism 1563

**Who are to come to the Lord’s table?**
Those who are displeased with themselves because of their sins, but who nevertheless trust that their sins are pardoned and that their continuing weakness is covered by the suffering and death of Christ, and who also desire more and more to strengthen their faith and live a better life.

All who are guilty…come! There is no condemnation.
