# Switching

I said [I switched](https://www.dashhouse.com/darryl/001937.htm) the other day. I lied. I’m switching. So far I’m loving it, but it *is* a bit of work getting everything set up. It’s not hard to get set up, actually. The hard part is transferring everything over from Windows. Somebody could make a small fortune doing this – charging whatever to help people move from one platform to another. Pay me this much, and all your e-mails, calendars, and files will be moved over. My two pet peeves so far: shouldn’t the same programs (e.g. [Quicken for Windows](http://www.intuit.ca/store/en/product/ProductDetail.jsp?skuId=Q05I05W406000&location=2&ref=dashhouse.com) and [Quicken for Mac](http://www.intuit.ca/store/en/product/ProductListing.jsp?location=2&catId=2&prodId=prod6410003&ref=dashhouse.com)) be able to read the same file? Why do I have to go through [all the grief of importing](http://search.intuit.com/KCS/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=http--wwwintuitcom-support-quicken-2004-mac-500305html&sliceId=&dialogID=4982990&ref=dashhouse.com)? Not fun. And why can’t [Entourage](http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products/entourage2004/entourage2004.aspx?pid=entourage2004&ref=dashhouse.com) import pst files from [Outlook](http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/FX010857931033.aspx?ref=dashhouse.com)? It [will happen](http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products/entourage2004/using.aspx?pid=pstbeta&ref=dashhouse.com), but not soon enough for me. My other pet peeve is that some software (hello, [Dreamweaver](http://www.macromedia.com/?ref=dashhouse.com)) won’t allow me to upgrade to a different platform. I have [Macromedia Studio MX 2004](http://www.macromedia.com/software/studio/?promoid=home%5Fprod%5Fstudio%5F082403&ref=dashhouse.com) for Windows, and I would have thought they would only charge me the upgrade price to switch to the Mac platform. Nope. If I want it, I have to pay the whole thing. This is what has kept me from making the switch earlier. I can’t find a good Bible program yet. [Accordance](http://www.accordancebible.com/?ref=dashhouse.com) looks okay, but no NIV? I gotta tell you, though – this thing runs nice.
