I don’t live in the States, and haven’t watched TV since the [NHL](http://www.nhl.com/?ref=dashhouse.com) playoffs ended, so I’ve missed most of the coverage of [Reagan’s funeral](http://www.nytimes.com/2004/06/12/politics/12REAG.html?ex=1087617600&en=408903c5641d9713&ei=5062&partner=GOOGLE&ref=dashhouse.com). I’ve seen enough, though, to marvel once again that it wasn’t so long ago that [Mulroney](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian%5FMulroney?ref=dashhouse.com), [Thatcher](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret%5FThatcher?ref=dashhouse.com), [Reagan](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald%5FReagan?ref=dashhouse.com), and [Gorbachev](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gorbachev?ref=dashhouse.com) were all in power, and the [Cold War](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold%5Fwar?ref=dashhouse.com) was on. It seems like it was a hundred years ago.
