> I think AIDS is one of many issues that the world will look back and ask, "Where was the church?" Like it or not, I think we will be judged on how we handle the crisis. At present, our actions don't match up with our words. Our silence on the issue – and our lack of concern for the growing number of widows and orphans – is deafening. We talk about having love and compassion for the people of the world, but continue to pour the vast majority of our resources into ourselves – our church buildings and programs. While we're paving parking lots and building auditoriums, African children are literally lying next to the corpses of their parents. It's tragic.
