# Nicky Gumble

I’m watching [Nicky Gumble](http://alphacourse.org/itv/nickygumbel/?ref=dashhouse.com), creator of the [Alpha course](http://alphacourse.org/?ref=dashhouse.com), on [Michael Coren Live](http://www.ctstv.com/shows/michael%5Fcoren.asp?ref=dashhouse.com). Actually, I get to meet Nicky in a few days at an [Alpha conference](http://www.alphacanada.org/conferences/index.html?ref=dashhouse.com). I have mixed feelings about Alpha. On one level, I’m a fan. On another, I’m always wary about one-size-fits-all programs. We seem so quick to latch on programs as answers to everything. I’m curious to see if they’ll come up with a version that’s adapted more to the postmodern world. But I have to say: I like Nicky. He’s winsome and just seems like a really cool guy. The last time I saw him, I was in the balcony of [Holy Trinity Brompton](http://www.htb.org.uk/?ref=dashhouse.com) as he pronounced the benediction. Makes me miss that whole England experience (minus my father’s dementia, of course). Another reminder of the power of a person who lives out his/her real and growing relationship with Christ.
