# Catalyst 2003

The [Maxwell marketing department](http://www.injoy.com/default.asp?ref=dashhouse.com) has been bombarding me with information on [Catalyst 2003](http://www.injoy.com/catalyst/?ref=dashhouse.com), and I’m in. I’ve even got the crazy Catalyst flag flying on my car (to replace the [Leafs](http://www.torontomapleleafs.com/?ref=dashhouse.com) one – won’t be needing that for a while). It’s true that I’ve [called John Maxwell a wuss](https://www.dashhouse.com/darryl/dsd0304.htm#000400) and worse, but he’s not the reason I’m going. I’ve been the past few years, and it’s consistently been what I needed. It’s also exposed me to some pioneers of the emerging church, and has stretched me in areas where I needed stretching. A lot of people may be suspicious of this event – it’s big, it’s run by Injoy, it’s been held at a megachurch, it’s too, well, not post-modern. Some of that is true, but it also misses the point. [Erwin McManus](http://www.mosaic.org/media/about/staff/erwin%5Fmcmanus%5Fbio.html?ref=dashhouse.com) was there last year. This year, Ron Martoia (author of [*Morph*](http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0764424505/dashhouse-20?ref=dashhouse.com)) and Rob Bell, teaching pastor of [Mars Hill](http://www.marshillbiblechurch.org/index.html?ref=dashhouse.com), are scheduled to be there. All that to say that if you live in the Toronto area and feel like going, we’ve got a van load of four guys going right now and we’d love to have you join us.
