Lost and Found
Just got back from a long and unexpected drive.
This morning, the people that took Buddy from us took him to the vet. The problem for them is that we had posters at every vet in the area Google would let us find. Between that and the microchip, the local SPCA and sheriff got involved. We got an anonymous call followed by an official one from the SPCA. It was 12:15, I had a 4.5 hour trip if all went well, plus a border crossing and some tricky navigation on country roads, and the SPCA closed at 5. I made it almost right on the button.
So we have Buddy back minus some of his stuff, and I have the number and address of the people who took him. I read an article in Faith Today this week that says you don't have to forgive someone until they repent. I actually disagree, in part because I don't like what not forgiving does to my own heart. So now I have the work of forgiving people who are a bit more real to me know.
But the dang dog is back.

Listen Bro.... You're going to have to do the same as I did with Max.
Sooner or later, you are going to have to revoke that dog's driver's licence and passport. If you don't, one of these days you are going to end up travelling to China to pick him up.
And for goodness sake, don't tell him about Frequent Flyer Miles!
Glad to hear Buddy's back, Triple D. I was about to offer you the dang dog that woke me up this morning. But Imbi and the kids wouldn't have been pleased with me.
unbelievable...what a story!
Hey Darryl,
Remembering a few years back another Dash doggie "Teeki" was on vacation with same Dash family to Pennsylvania and ran away. After a few winter days running loose across freeways etc turned up at an SPCA in New Jersey.
Now another amazing Dash doggie recovery! Buddy Returns
Any plans to take another doggie vacation to the US anytime soon?
One can only hope that we have learned never to travel to the USA with our dogs!
awesome story! glad you got your puppy back! I don't know what I'd do if someone stole ours... and I agree with you, people need to be forgiven whether they ask for it our not. for our sakes, not theirs. Otherwise, it eats you. (maybe that's what fuzzy is!)
