What's the secret to your church's growth?
A church that is growing and written up in a book called Comeback Churches is likely to be asked, "What's the secret?"
Here's how one church answered:
Its hard to point to our wisdom and virtue that built the church. We have walked through some doors simply because all the others ones were closed; we have made mistakes that turned out to be strokes of genius...
We do not hope people will copy our strategies. Just because one strategy works one place doesn't mean it will work somewhere else. Our hope is not in the brilliantly-conceived plans of men.
Read the whole article for how they explain their church's growth. It doesn't answer every question, but it's a refreshing change from seeing growth as a marketable and transferable principles coming soon in a book and conference near you.

Good article and looks like God is doing a great work at his church.
That's it isn't it Darryl? Its gotta be God doing the work. We're just His agents that He uses. We gotta be totally sold out to Him for anything powerful to to be happening in our churches.
Again, I think the number one problem is how the church has sold out to the world in so many places. Greater fear of man than of God. Bringing the world right into the church to try to attract folks. We want the world to like us so we water down the message, don't talk about sin, don't talk about repentance being necessary for salvation, just be all friendly with a few truth nuggets here and there. Tell everyone how God is a God of love but fail to tell them of His justice and His wrath that is going to come on all unrighteousness.
If you are asking about the secret in our own churches, I can testify to what God is doing at our church. As we strive to be faithful to His Word, (all of it), 1) preach it without apology, 2) lift high the name of Jesus in worship,(contemporary without compromise), 3) believe firmly in the power of prayer, and 4) sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with boldness, as we strive to do all that, God has been bringing people to us.
Many are getting saved, baptized, fired up for God, loving God, bringing their friends, loving each other, sharing with each other, loving the lost, having a burden for the lost, inviting the lost. God's doing it all and we are amazed and awed by what He is doing.
I personally believe God is going to bring revival to our area the GTA, Golden Horshoe. There is such a spiritual hunger out there. People are lost, wandering with no hope, no focus, looking for happiness, but not finding it.
We God's people have the answer, we need to declare it, we need to love the lost like God does, we need to love them into the kingdom. A big part of that loving them is telling them the truth, the whole truth. God uses that big time. Start watering that down and God begins to withdraw. Its just so clear.
Don't you think?
