The reading phase is almost over

At our last residency, they warned us that we had a good 50-100 hours reading ahead of us before we started to write our thesis-project. I thought I would get it done in a couple of months, but it's taken longer. One book leads to another 400+ page one. But it's been fun.

My reading is mostly done now. I plan to read a few more on vacation over the next couple of weeks. Then comes the hard part - writing. I have to say I'm looking forward to it.

Here are some of the books piled on my desk.

Darryl,

Will you be publishing your thesis when you're done?

Hi Rob,

I'll probably post the PDF. Eventually I hope to convert it into a more readable book. The thesis format isn't all that friendly.

Potential Tid bit: I just read a book on holidays that's part of the "Gospel Acc. to the OT" series, which presents "studies on the lives of OT characters...designed to encourage Christ-centered...preaching of the OT." The book I read was on the lives of Elijah and Elisha called 'Faith in the Face of Apostasy,' written by Raymond B. Dillard, and far from being simplistically moralistic it was always keeping an eye on how the relevant scriptures were part of the Bible's one story-line that culminates in Christ. It's the second in the series I've read and I think the authors are mandated to write theocentrically, because the biblical theological emphasis is so refreshingly central.

Darryl,

I recognized a few of those books. I'd interested in seeing your reading list.

Thanks,

Rod
