Fearless election predictions

| | Comments (8) | TrackBacks (0)

It's election day on Monday here in Canada. I usually try to avoid going into politics on this blog, even though I do have my opinions. Do I ever.

Let's just say that there's one party that I'd find hard to support in this election. Nevertheless, it's always a hard decision to make, especially as you consider all the options. I am in an interesting riding, with a superstar candidate rumored to be a future Liberal leader running after being parachuted in.

So here are my predictions for the results on Monday. I predict a Harper minority with the following breakdown of seats:

Conservative - 120
Liberal - 111
Bloq - 53
NDP - 23
Independent - 1

I'm predicting more Liberal seats than a lot of people. We'll see if I'm right. It should be an interesting night on Monday.

Interesting now the Liberals want to raise the abortion debate and how the Conservatives would want to deal with a "woman's right to choose"

What a sick mindset that is.

Lets hope and pray for a Conservative majority

Well, I'm glad you're against the Liberals this time.

Trish: Nice try!

George: You may be disappointed. Andrew Coyne writes:

"Fine. So if your only issue in this election is preserving abortion rights, you should survey your local candidates' positions on it, and vote accordingly. But as far as the two parties' are concerned, their positions are more or less identical: a free vote if necessary, but not necessarily a free vote."

I know that Darryl, my point is how disgusting that at this late point in the campaign the Liberals are trying once again to exploit the so called hidden agenda of the Conservatives and Stephen Harper in particular.

Its reflective of the state of our society I guess. The Liberals are telling Canadians that you better really think about voting Conservative because they just might deal with the abortion issue and the so called "woman's right to choose" Like it would be such a bad thing to try to get people to realize and understand about the santity of life including life in the womb.

Or how 'bout the same sex marriage issue. Yea you wouldn't the Conservatives in to allow for a free vote, no that would be such a bad thing, you Canadians better think about that. Then you got that Smitherman guy getting into it whining about better get married to his lover now before the Conservatives get in.

What an amazing state of affairs we find ourselves in. We continue to slide deeper into moral depravity but if anyone even suggests that the liberals are all over that.

In terms of us Christians desiring to work for God and His Kingdom we will be better off, I'm hoping, with a Conservative majority

By the way Darryl, does your response to Trish tell us you are voting Liberal??? Say it isn't so.

No, it means I'm not saying how I'm going to vote. ;)

Thankfully, I think God and his Kingdom won't depend too much on the outcome of Monday's election.

Absolutely true, let's just say Harper might be somewhat more sympathetic to God's cause.

I just wish the politicos would run on a platform of whatever description instead of resorting to mud-slinging and name calling.

I want to know where they stand on THE ISSUES, not who said what ten years ago and who has the better haircut.

You are right George... sad state of affairs.
