From Put On Your Own Oxygen Mask First:
Most books I've read on ministry and leadership are based on three assumptions that lead to flawed conclusions: They make a distinction between the call to professional ministry and the call to lay ministry; they set their conversations about ministry mainly in the context of the institutional church; and they interpret ministry through the eyes of modern thought, ignoring the first few centuries of Christianity. Starting from these perspectives totally flaws any conversation about authentic ministry. (Bill Easum)
Hey Darryl, how about a post of some good things that the church of Christ is doing.
Hey George, I refer you to the post below.
The church of Christ in North America isn't in the greatest shape - you yourself have quoted Tozer to this effect. But the church is starting to notice, and there are many happy stories like the post just before this one.
You and I need to talk about this one on Skype. The real problem with most leadership books is that they start with "doing" instead of "being" ==> "becoming" ==> "doing." This was the basis for our D.Min. track in Christian Leadership.
George, if you want fair and balanced, let me recommend Fox News Channel. ;)
