Tall Skinny Kiwi predicts:

I believe that FOOD and cooking are as essential to emerging/organic church than what music was to contemporary/seeker church. I also predict that in the next few years, as emerging churches stop emerging and settle down into their calling, that we will see a resurrection of the church cookery books in the tradition of the Mennonite and Amish churches. Although these will be web based instead of print.

I heard someone talk about quilting this week. She said the point of quilting isn't quilting; it's hanging out with others. The same could be said of food. I hope this prediction is right.

I sure hope so. I get tired of people dumping off frozen grocer pizza and store bought cookies at our church Potlucks. And wouldn't a tall skinny cocktail be nice for a change!

g'day daz - the thing I sometimes hear is that food is essential to church now - like without a meal it just isn't 'church'.

I wonder if we are in danger of the same nonsense we have seen in the est church where music was the key element?

Focus on good things, but 'wrong' things is why we finish up disillusioned I feel.
