From the Seattle Post-Intelligence:

SEQUIM, Wash. -- Eva Fridell, who shunned exercise and milk in favor of sweets, Irish coffee and an occasional beer, and became reportedly the oldest person in Washington state, is dead at 110.

Fridell died Saturday afternoon in her easy chair at home in this Olympic Peninsula town, relatives said. She would have turned 111 on May 28.

She hated exercise, loved sweets and Irish coffee, and died in an easy chair well into her old age. You gotta love it.

My great-grandfather lived to 103. On his 100th birthday, he was interviewed by the local newspaper. One of the questions they asked him was his favorite food. He replied simply, "Meat."

Meanwhile, Brian Maxwell, a Canadian Olympic marathoner who co-created the PowerBar, died "unexpectedly" of a heart attack last week at the age of 51.
