Woman's Google search led to date's arrest

| 3 Comments

From Ananova:

A US man was arrested after a year on the run after a woman checked his name on Google before meeting him for a date.

The woman tipped off authorities in New York after agreeing to meet LaShawn Pettus-Brown in a restaurant on Long Island.

The woman's Google search revealed there was an FBI warrant out for Pettus-Brown's arrest in connection with fraud allegations in Cincinnati, Ohio.

It's a lot harder to hide this days with Google.

Remind me not to date any Internet-savvy women!

I almost responded to this comment when it was first posted, but resisted the temptation. I had almost forgotten about it, but last night our local news channel carried a similar story about a guy who was recognized by his picture on a web site. Call me weak-willed if you like, but I can resist no longer.

Kevin, your request for us to remind you not to date any Internet-savvy women begs the question: Either you have a VERY checkered past, (anything we should know about? If so, is there a reward?)or you are suffering from a condition that prevents you from remembering issues as important as this.

Just curious! :-}

Nah. Was just making a stupid joke is all.

The background check the church ran on me last week was clean. :)
