Char's Blog

Will Charlene ever blog again?
So I'm off on a great adventure! Flying solo pilot, with two children in tow, I've made the trek to Phoenixville, PA. The weather has been rather inclement but for the most part we have been too preoccupied to notice. We may head out to Valley Forge National Park because it's practically in the back yard but for now we are busy fighting for rights to hold Jackson. (I'll be back with a photo later).
Last night we had a great meal to mark my official "over the hill" year (you can guess which one). I received a surprise gift and several e-cards! Many thanks to all who took the time to call or send a line along.
Many thanks to my sis & bro-in-law for sharing their sleep-deprived space with us.
A tribute to my diet-coke junkie.

Well... I think I have completed my tax return! Hurray! I'm going to have a second pair of eyes check it out and then it will get printed and delivered. No option to efile and It has to arrive prior to March 31 or else these guys
will start to get really nasty with me.
The nice part in all of this is that once the return is processed they will owe me a nice chunk of money!
Update: that's my 2004 tax return I've finished. Yes, I'm an accountant (occaisionally) by day.
Today we were off to see Sho Mo & the Monkey Bunch
perform at the Bruce's Mill Sugarbush Maple Syrup Festival. Amazingly, the crowds were fairly small and we moved easily through both the Conservation Centre activities and the Community Safety Village. Nothing beats singing with the monkeys, complimentary organic bananas, pancakes with maple syrup and the great outdoors on a sunny, windy day!
I have been spending this week with my kids in my home town of Newmarket.
Yesterday we participated in the Elman W. Campbell Museum's March Break Mayhem. Christina was, by far, the champion stilt performer! I wish I had a photo for you but, alas, no camera! It is possible that she may show up in an upcoming Newmarket Era Banner as the photographer was on hand to capture the activities!
After the old time activities and games, we moved on to Beaners for kids hair cuts. It would seem that the kids have now discovered their favourite place for a hair cut. (Fortunately, prices are resonable.) Christina is also dreaming of a Royal Princess Gala birthday party package! Unfortunately, if you're not in Newmarket, you need to be in Alberta to bemuse your child while those lovely locks get trimmed and primmed.
