Char's Blog
... the rest of the story
From comments in Christina's Adventure, Ian asks, "Charlene, you need to complete this blog entry .. how did things go?"
And so here is... the rest of the story!
Christina's trip - as with so many other things in our lives - was a real testimony to answered prayer and the grace of God. On the morning of the second day Christina experienced numbness and tingling on one side of her face and in her mouth. The incharge teacher, Charmaine, left a message for Darryl & I at home in the early afternoon to update us on Christina's condition. Charmaine arranged her afternoon and evening to be with Christina and she advised the other adults (teachers and parent volunteers) of the situation so that people would be prepared to respond in the event of a larger seizure.
As I listened to this message peace flooded over my heart. In his great mercy the Lord extended to my failing faith the evidence that He is more than able to provide not only sufficient, but in fact overflowing, provision. On a human level, there was nothing that could be added to the care that was being extended to Christina. On a grander scale I was flooded by the tangible evidence that the protection of God is far greater than the best of my human capabilities.
There was no grand mal seizure. The tingling and numbness subsided and resolved itself. The icing on the cake in this whole scenerio is that, Charmaine (next year's teacher) and Christina developed a strong bond from their time spent together.
Just another awesome God moment in the midst of our mundane lives.
and so a comfort level appears to be there/forming (on both the parents and the daughers side) for future outings for Christina! Praise God for keeping watch over his flock!
Thank you for sharing your story with us! It was encouraging to hear your 'joy of the Lord is my strength' attitude from between the lines.
Nice to see you post again.
Thanks for sharing that.
As someone who know first hand what those feelings feel like and even how disconcerting they can be...my heart goes out to her. Too young to go through this. But God is good, and I pray he'll be greater in her eyes because of it.
May she be blessed and become a blessing...as she is already doing.
Thanks again for sharing.
