October 2002 Archives
The day before I began my fulltime working career my heart screamed "NO" to the position I would begin on the following day. My father's advice that day was simple and direct: "Well, do it until you know what it is you want to do." Over the intervening 5,282 days I often resented that advice. My labours were at times successful but often they were not. I preservered. As time went by my roles of wife, pastor's wife and mother came into place but my health hit several low points and, for the most, it seemed as though my head would never fully discover the cry of my heart. 5,282 God-ordained days passed by.
Then, in back-to-back sessions on October 25, 2002, day 5,283, God spoke:
"I am a voice crying out in the wilderness, "Prepare ye the way of the Lord." (John 1:23)
The counting is over and the ride has begun! I am a voice. I am called to speak. The passion of my heart is to speak. I must speak! Praise be to God.
