Ed Stetzer on Church Revitalization - Ed Stetzer is coming to Richview on September 30 for a free event for pastors and church leaders. Ed is a great guy and I'm looking forward to this event. You can find out more information and register at FEBToronto.com.
Ed Stetzer has planted, revitalized, and pastored churches. He has trained pastors and church planters on five continents, holds two masters degrees and two doctorates, and has written dozens of articles and books. Ed is a columnist for Outreach Magazine and Catalyst Monthly, serves on the advisory council of Sermon Central and Christianity Today's Building Church Leaders, and is frequently cited or interviewed in news outlets such as USAToday and CNN. Ed is Visiting Professor of Research and Missiology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Visiting Research Professor at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and has taught at fifteen other colleges and seminaries. He also serves on the Church Services Team at the International Mission Board. Ed’s primary role is President of LifeWay Research and LifeWay’s Missiologist in Residence.
Toronto Pastors Fellowship - They've just come out with the line-up. Check it out. I really enjoyed last year's meetings.
Manufactured Landscapes - story umbrella & Imago present Manufactured Landscapes, a film by Jennifer Baichwal on the work of renowned Canadian artist, Edward Burtynsky. Thursday September 24th, 2009, 7:00 pm at the George Ignatieff Theatre, Trinity College, UToronto. See story umbrella for more.
And more - Of course, there's also the Dead Sea Scrolls at the Royal Ontario Museum. And I hope to have information on the Toronto Theology Pub soon.
A side note: On September 16, both U2 and Rob Bell are in town, and the choice between the two is going to drive some of my post-evangelical friends crazy. If you are into rock stars and overpriced t-shirts, you can't go wrong with either event. If you're not, I hear Ken Davis is free for coffee. As for me, I'm with Bono.
I never thought I would mention Ed Stetzer, the Toronto Pastors Fellowship, U2, Rob Bell, and Ken Davis in the same post, but I did it.
Update: I forgot to mention the Sola-Scriptura Conference on John Calvin, taking place from September 17 to 19.

Now there is a real dilemma. U2, Rob Bell, or coffee with Ken Davis. Enough to make you give up on music, religion and caffeine.I'll rent Massey Hall to handle the crowds.
I'm gonna go for the coffee with Ken. ;-) He's THE BEST storyteller.Saw U2 at the beginning of the first Zoo tour... and hated it. Three nights after seeing Dire Straights in the same venue - the Gardens. Knopfler and the gang were fabulous. U2 was all one SPL - whether they were full tilt or doing an acoustic number. Plus, the kids at the show stood for the whole thing - and we had to stand, too.My boys will be @ U2, however.Oh. And who's this Rob Bell fella? :-)
Ah Bill, You just keep climbing higher on the list of people with great taste - not because you think I tell great stories - but because you are a fan of Knopfler and co. Once again we agree - who should be the most concerned?

I got my U2 tickets way back at the beginning of the year. I think it would be interesting to see Rob Bell, but he's got a few more years in him I think, this may well be U2's last tour on this scale.
