Love Breaks Through Self-Sufficiency

heartofaservantleader.jpg

John Miller to a missionary who is, along with Miller, counseling a couple who have left the mission field because of problems in their marriage:

Todd, please cultivate a knowledge of Jesus Christ's love for you (2 Cor. 5:14-15; Rom. 5:1-6). Then cultivate your love for Him. He is infinitely worthy of our love, just as we are infinitely unworthy of his love. Do, then, spend much time thinking about His love. It is the only thing that enabled me to break through the crust of my own strength and sufficiency and reach out with patient love as I counseled them. (p.214)
