Why do the New Calvinists insist on complementarianism? Don't miss Scot McKnight's interaction in the comments.
A great piece by Kevin DeYoung and Ted Kluck in the Newsweek/Washington Post forum in religion: Church: Love It, Don't Leave It (HT: Justin Taylor). This is a great writing partnership.
The best post I've read all week: Trevin Wax on reasons to take a blog sabbatical. An ironic choice for my favorite blog post this week, but it's a good one.

The fellow who did the commentary list seems to not have heard of Gordon Fee. Fee's 1 Corinthians commentary (NICNT) is excellent and I am shocked it was omitted, even in the honourable mention category.
I went straight to the Matthew list...while I did find F.D.Bruners 2 Vol. Commentary on Matthew way down on the also ran list I had to put my props in here...it's not only the best Matthew Commentary I could ever imagine...it is my favourite Commentary period and the first books I would grab in the proverbial house on fire situation...even on a lifeboat F.D. 's Commentary takes my grandmothers spot ( she has already passed away otherwise she would indeed pose a dilemma for me!) Take it from The Blackman Of Brooklin FD Bruner Gospel of Matthew Vol. 1&2
