24 Hours in New York

I've always wanted to live in New York City for at least a year. I got 1/365th of the way there this weekend. Turns out you can do a lot in 24 hours. We checked into our hotel at 2:19 p.m. on Saturday and:

Not bad given we mostly walked and had two kids in tow!

And we checked out at 2:10 p.m. on Sunday, home by midnight. Mission accomplished: Charlene can now see living there. Next time we're staying longer.

That's a cool trip and you've given me an idea for a quick family getaway...

Congrats, man! I'm going in with a few friends April 5-6 to shoot an interview with Malcolm Gladwell. To bad I'll miss Redeemer... would be a great opportunity.

You're gonna post more about your impressions of Redeemer, right? Or had you been there before? I remember reading somewhere they do five weekend services. Did you guys feel safe as tourists? We just did 3 days in Atlanta and we've done Washington, DC; but weren't sure about NYC.

Paul: That's a great idea. I'll do a post about our experience at Redeemer soon. I'd been there before, but only for what they call an Open Forum, not one of their regular services. We felt very safe in New York. We didn't feel unsafe at all.
