Pastor's Retreat Network

I've bookmarked this and I plan to use it someday:

Founded in 1997, Pastors Retreat Network offers five-day retreats to pastors and pastor couples. Our programs balance solitude and community time. Scripture reading and meditation are at the heart of the experience.

Pastor Retreat Network’s strategy flows out of a profound vision:

To glorify God and build His kingdom by strengthening Christian pastors for better ministry to the people they lead.

We do this by providing a self-directed and Christ-centered retreat experience, where God prompts Christian pastors to feel His presence, discern His will and follow His leading. These spiritually strengthened pastors will be empowered by God to transform their ministries and build His kingdom.

The program is free and I've heard good things.

Pastor Daniel went to the one in Ohio - thoroughly enjoyed it. You should do it one day.

My Brother in law went to similar thing once in a monastery that invites a small number of pastors to come and rest. I don't think there was any directed time- just lots of time alone in the quiet. He seemed to benefit a great deal.

My wife and I have gone to the Pastor's Retreat Network site in Wisconsin twice, and it was fabulous. A great time to reconnect with God and with your spouse, all in a very warm and hospitable environment. For something slightly different, check out http://www.rockymountainrenewal.org/" rel="nofollow">http://www.rockymountainrenewal.org/" rel="nofollow">http://www.rockymountainrenewal.org/ . We stayed at one of their Colorado sites last summer, and it was amazing.

I would not recommend the Texas Stagecoach Ranch which is part of the Pastors Retreat Network. My wife and I were treated so rudely by the hostess Karen upon our arrival that we left within 5 minutes and did not return. She really went into an uncontrollable rant about how we were arriving too early (about 30 minutes). That was this past Sunday, December 3rd. She really had a meltdown. We did not feel welcome enough to give it a go. Good Luck if you go there!
