Not another Bono post
Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at 12:00PM A fascinating conversation with Bono about his faith:
With spontaneous eloquence, he said being a worship leader must be "the highest of all art forms, to worship and call people into the presence of God."
Clearly aware of the ironies of his new faith-based campaign, Bono admitted, "If me 10 years ago would have heard me say what I said today, I wouldn't believe me."
Bono spent nearly 45 minutes with us and loosened up a lot as the conversation went on. He would have kept going, but his handlers cut the session off. He was thoughtful and candid, a performer who didn't appear to be performing. And he was enormously compelling, especially when he described the people he has met in his travels in Africa who put real "flesh and bones" on the purpose of his campaign.

Darryl, Being hurt by criticisms about one's faith does not mean that one is a believer. I don't care if someone uses all my terminology but does Bono confess Christ? I have seen quotes attributed to him that would deny it. Is your understanding that he is trusting Christ?
Ken: Yes. I've read a couple of books on the subject since Christmas. U2's roots go back to a very strong Christian fellowship in Dublin. Bono confesses Christ. He and I wouldn't agree on some of the details but I would call him a brother.
International Bono Blog Post WeekIt seems everyone’s linking and talking about Bono’s address to the National Prayer Breakfast — I’ve already done my blog entry for it as well. Turns out that’s not the only virtual ink he’s getting this week…...
I know this post is way old but I'll comment anyway. I find I am often swayed about what I think about Bono because of gossip, be it hearsay or the media so I really have no idea where he actually stands but... I find as a musician and just as a person who has a spirit that percieves falseness quickly like so many of as next-gen kids, that U2's music is what Christian music should be like. I don't mean melodies or tones, or chorus structure etc. I mean songs like "In the name of love". That is just truth being sung. Where as I feel often like some current "Christian" is just nice dude trying to sell us and convince so non-Christian that god really is after all a nice dude worth liking.
For the record, the above isn't me.
