Geek tools

I'm checking out Trumba, an online calendar. I'll let you know what I think. If you want to check it out, you get 60 free days. Enter TrumbaFriend as the promo code if you decide to buy, and you'll get an additional account for free. My friend Sandy is raving about Pandora:
I can't remember when I've been so excited by a Web tool, or so willing to pay to keep it. I paid the $36 required for a year's subscription, and spent the afternoon listening to my personal radio channels.
I'll have to give that a try too.

Hi Darryl: I'd invite you to also try AirSet http://www.airset.com" rel="nofollow">http://www.airset.com" rel="nofollow">http://www.airset.com if you're trialing online calendars. Full disclosure: I work with AirSet. Like Trumba and others, AirSet enables shared calendars, automated reminders, syncs to Outlook, et al. But AirSet also.... 1. Is free (our web service) 2. Enables you to also share contacts, lists, blogs, bookmarks and - soon -- files with your groups. 3. Is available on your cell phone as an option. We are rolling out mobile clients that will enable you to access and update your group calendars, contacts and lists via your mobile phone. U.S. to start at $4.99 month, then rolling out to other markets like Canada. Hope you'll give us a look. p.s.... I concur with your friend about Pandora. I haven't yet subscribed but it's definitely a cool service and very addictive.

How's it any different than Yahoo! Calendar?

I generally find Yahoo! stuff pretty frustrating. In this case, it doesn't look like you can subscribe to iCal feeds for Mac users. I'm sure there are other differences as well - I'll try to find out.

When you're at it, I'd suggest you also have a look at CalendarHub (http://www.calendarhub.com). Like AirSet, it's free. It allows you to import and export calendars, set up shared group calendars, publish calendars on the Web and much more. It also offers reminders via email and SMS. In addition, it offers various RSS feeds and iCal subscriptions. Maybe it's time to do a little calendar roundup? :-) Full disclosure: I'm an investor at CalendarHub.
