The Wiggles
Saturday, May 14, 2005 at 10:41PM
Having a six-year-old son, I get to watch shows like The Wiggles. Whenever I see them, I get to thinking how strange it is for grown men to act like that. I know they're Australian and all, which explains some of their goofy behavior (just checking if Hamo still reads this blog), but don't they have any respect for themselves? Evidently they get their respect from somewhere else: THE toddler-set singing- sensation The Wiggles have unseated Nicole Kidman as the richest perfomers in Australia. The teeny-tiny-bopper foursome...made more than $34 million last year from the sale of CDs, videos and other merchandise, according to BRW, the Australian business magazine. Kidman, the Australian money-winning champ for the last several years, dropped out of the top spot despite almost doubling her earnings in the past year to $30 million.Apart from loving the title of the article ("Wiggles Bump Off Nicole Kidman" - I was expecting a crime story there for a second), I now know why they act that way. There is money in being goofy.

now,now treat aussies with respect :)
"Squashed bananah, squashed bananah..." Yeah, pretty annoying. But the kids dig it.
what's scary is when you start to sing the stupid songs!!
Yeah, and I also guess that Nicole Kidman doesn't have to share her income with another three people. I've thought of a great opportunity. They should make a movie called "Wiggles Bump Off Nicole Kidman." Sort of a murder mystery to be enjoyed by kids and adults alike. They could all make a bit more money! I know I would go to that movie. ;)
If there is money in being goofy, how come I'm not rich?
now, be nice to your little one....for the time being..... it would be his way of personal development....i guess.....all kids would go thru something like this thru different stages of development in their lives....didn't you go thru this stage of some sort when you were a little one.... but i would seriously begin to think of how he would react when he is in his early or late teens, 20s, 30s, 40s then in his 50s you can stop worrying a little....just a little.... that is something for you to seriously think about a little later on.... dad.....but not now... the worries comes later on.....you'll see.... but for now, just enjoy being a parent....being a dad to him....cause he only has one dad in this lifetime.....and no other..... as a parent you can never stop worrying about your children....that is definitely a fact.....
May, I wasn't being critical of my son at all. I was wondering why the Wiggles acted so silly. Now I know - it makes them rich, plus it's a cover-up for bumping off Nicole Kidman. And I want to know if anyone has seen or heard from Russell Crowe lately.
Arthur: It has to be something the kids want to watch. ;)
