Why I don't fit with emergent

As someone who doesn't quite fit as well, but who is not willing to write it off, this is a helpful post.

I'm usually scared off by people who claim "fit perfectly" somewhere.

I still haven't figured out exactly how relevant to my faith it is to categorize which camp I'd fall into anyhow. Maybe it matters to people who actually 'run' the churches - but frankly, it affects my everyday christian life very little. Can you explain why it's so important to categorize the church? I don't think the bible does, does it? Thanks.
