A lot of books critique the modern evangelical church. A critique can be helpful, but what is even more useful is some help on how to be the church more faithfully. It's even better if this help is given from someone who is thoughtful, not just pragmatic, and a practitioner, not just a theoretician.

I've been wanting to pick this book up. I have heard, however, that it is farily critical of "parachurch". What was your take? Peace, Jamie

Jamie: If I remember right, I think the book says the church has given away some of what it should be doing to the parachurch. Can't remember that section exactly though. I'll look it up next time I'm at my office. Love your blog by the way.
