My day as a groupie

I admit it. I've been sucked into the Christian celebrity culture. I woke up this morning and chose to follow a visiting Christian superstar around Toronto as he made his appearances. Well, sort of. Rick McKinley is a friend and a fellow student in the D.Min. program. He is the Pastor Rick of Don Miller fame, from Imago Dei Community in Portland. He always swore to me that he would never come to Canada, but everyone has his price and evidently Rick's was lower than any of us thought. Rick made the trek to 100 Huntley Street, which ironically keeps bringing in subversive guests. There we bumped into Erwin McManus. Rick taught a workshop in the afternoon. It was fun to see behind the curtain to see what goes on at a conference like Mosaic. Rick taught a good session on church and culture and redemptive windows. A good day but my days as a groupie may be numbered. Although the food really is good.

And speaking of following around the famous, I'm hoping to meet you at the Resonate gathering at the frwy next weekend. No beverages out my nose, promise :)
