I haven't been asked to join Mensa either and that's maybe why I'm a little lost for figuring this one out.

Yeah, a little context would help. It's saying that our problem is not scarcity. Our problem is that we almost have too much of everything that we need, so that it's hard to even have our thirst quenched despite having so much.
