Paying attention

From idealab:
It appeared to me that the real ministry of Jesus was paying attention to people. He was great at noticing lepers at the pool, blind men at the gate, women at the well, tax collectors in a tree, fishermen in a boat, fathers with dying sons, people with nothing to eat, lonely widows, adulterers needing mercy and those administering the crucifixion in need of forgiveness. He took the time to notice these kind of normal folk. He incarnated his Spirit into them with his attention to their lives... I decided back then that this was a ministry model that I could do. I would wake up and pay attention to people; I mean really be present with those in my path that day. In some way, in every interaction, incarnate the love of Christ in real and tangible ways; daily give away my most valuable commodities, my attention.

So I guess all that atonement, propitiation, and general salvific work was just incidental? ;)
