If by what they mean 'spiritually significant' is using the Lord's name in vain or the like, then they could even add a few others. I can't believe some of these titles. Just an informing note: There is a very good website that my family and I use before renting a movie. It's at focus on the family. The section is "Plugged in". It also includes box office movies and even music. If you are looking for a very thourough review, this is a site for you. A real must for parents!
I don't think the list intends to endorse the content of the movies. I hear your concerns about content, but I think the purpose of the list was to point to the top movies that deal with spiritual issues, not necessarily good or pure movies.
In response to Peter. I find Plugged In Biased. I prefer Screenit.com (which gives everything but is not necessarily Christian) Focus seems to like sum movies but dislike very similar ones. Or pick up on one idea that is less important than more major ones. I also use Christiananswers.net.
I think it's generally a good list. The list isn't called the Top 100 "Family Friendly" films or even "Christian" films. These are films for grown-ups who want to confront spiritual issues in the world around them. Even so, there were a few duds in there in my opinion. Thanks for the link, Darryl! I'm a huge film fan.
