Valedictorian at Christian High School Fails to Cite "The Purpose Driven Life"

From the Holy Observer:
BATTLE CREEK, MI ñ The graduation speech of 2004 Battle Creek Christian School Valedictorian Crystal Finn, delivered earlier this month, sent shockwaves through the audience, not for what she said, but for what she didn't say. "We all loved and trusted Crystal, so we didn't demand a copy of her speech like we've done with past valedictorians," BCCC Principal Donald Roop told THO. "We saw that her title was 'God's Perfect Plan,' so we put it in the program, and we figured we all knew what was coming. But we were wrong. And we don't like surprises."
More, including Willow Creek's decision to shut down this summer, and a pastor's wife who doesn't replace toilet paper ("We've started calling her One-Ply Pine, because you're lucky if she leaves you that much when she's done"), in the latest edition of the Observer. Update: The Holy Observer is a satire site. ;)

That's amazing isn't it Darryl, a huge church like Willowcreek shutting down for the summer. What does that tell us about commitment to Christ? That's unbelievable. And Hybels justifies it and thinks its great and how other churches will follow suit. Amazing.

CEO Hybels ...oops...I mean pastor Hybels seems to be a little disoriented in his calling. Our God has lots of money and if He wants to, He can pay for their air conditioning all summer long. It's amazing how these are our crisis in North America when a good part of the world is martyred for Christ and in what they believe. I firmly believe that we should go back to the model of the first church in Acts. They went from house to house ministering...and not just pastors, but everyone alike. This would eliminate any "overhead" of operating a church, if that's a concern. I only hope that pastor Hybels comments were taken out of context in this article.

It's unbelievable, Willowcreek is totally in violation of Hebrews 10:25.

Oh man, you guys are all going to hate me when I tell you that the Holy Observer is a satire site and all the stories are fake. Some of them are so strange that they could be true. Sorry, guys, I thought that the stories I posted were so over the top (especially the toilet paper one). Didn't mean to lead you astray.

I kinda thought something was wrong about the article. Not mad at you Darryl. Makes for a good discusion. I try not passing judgement on 2nd hand info, however easy it may be to do so. Keep blogging! P.S. I left a comment on Brian's blog yesterday Darryl. Victory Baptist seems not to far from us. Might check it out soon. Are they open in the summer months? LOL.

Ok, I'm feeling stupid.

George, my wife and my brother have done the same thing before. Don't feel stupid. The good news is that they're starting to talk to me again.
