OSAP's coming

I went to school back in the days when OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program) gave grants and loans to needy students. These days, grants are harder to get. I took on some OSAP loans, but I really benefited from their grant program. I couldn't have made it through school without it. The news today says that OSAP overpaid some grants up to 23 years ago, and is sending out collection notices asking for repayment. Since I got grants, there's a possibility I'll be getting a collection notice. Who knows? Not fun to receive a bill from 13 years ago today. Maybe I'll try to see it as an interest-free loan all these years.

Yeah no offense but some of us have to go into major debt cause we couldn't get a grant.

I know. A few years later and that would have been me as well. I had some debt but not nearly as much as students have these days.

Well PTL you were offset just when you needed it. I'll pray that you don't have to pay back anything. If you do maybe us bloggers could take up a collection.

Ah, thanks Trish. Nice, but you don't have to take up a collection. We may all need our money when the next provincial budget comes out, by the sounds of it.

What? You got a grant? That explains why you were off galavanting while I was scrubbing toilets on the third floor. But that's government for you. Revenue Canada owes me a refund of $2700 this year, but they held it back because I owe them $21 from my 1991 return (the year I left for the US of A).

Deadbeat.
