Personally I feel that comment is so out of touch, a kind of reverse prejudism.

It may be if the quote is all you read. The article is pretty balanced. He's pretty positive in his approach.

I don't know...I guess there's always the what if's, and they're based on real and even true propositions (only reading the statement here) but if that was the case, the world would also be a different place where we'd asking..."If black kids couldn't read and white kids could we'd do something to address it." I guess the real point, and the article probably addresses this, is what are we going to do about it? Ok, it's late...
