Changing

I've been through a lot of changes lately. I wish I knew where all of this was going, but I don't. But I feel better about things today than I did a while ago. Not so long ago, I was wondering if God was leading me away from the established church to something else. I wasn't sure, and I sure wasn't going to jump until I heard God's call pretty clearly. I think I've moved to someone who loves the new forms of church, while not completely abandoning the old. LT expresses some of the reasons better than I could. The issue isn't (always) structure. The issue is following Jesus. Who knows where all of this will lead?

I guess, at least, part of the point is, if we realize we are growing and part of growth is change, we continue to affect those structures in our lives (personal), and in our systems (institutions,) where and how we can. I keep mulling on your article, "it isn't about the e.c. and it keeps coming back to this. Just follow Jesus where you are. That might lead you to new ground, but don't go until he says, "come and follow me here..." Of course I can change my opinion by lunchtime tomorrow, but right now, that's where I am...

How refreshing to know there are pastors who are open to change - not just for the sake of change, but as God leads and for the benefit of His people. Nothing frustrates me more than to be part of a church that is being "held back" (you know what I mean...) by those who will not change; where does it say in the Bible that church must be at 11 am.?! Keep changing and growing, Darryl. Not only is it good for you but it will be good for those at your church to stay fresh in their faith. (want to come to London??)
