Saturday Night Live

DJ Chuang writes:
Okay, I stayed up, watched U2 on SNL, best part of that show, rest of it was mostly disappointing. They did Vertigo, Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own (both from new CD), and a 3rd - "I Will Follow" to close out the show. Bono was thrilled by the live part of it, the SNL crew looked thrilled see U2 perform live and in person.
They cut off the last song - too bad. Looked like U2 was going to do a fourth. They know how to perform. SNL was disappointing otherwise, except for Debbie Downer and the opening sketch with George W. Bush acting like The Donald.

I stayed up Saturday night to watch U2. Enjoyed the opening act and Debbie Downer. Fell asleep before the band played. :(

After all that I had to say, in anticipation of the show, I fell asleep at about 10:30PM. I woke up at exactly 11:30pm for about one minute with every intention of watching the whole show. Well... I then woke up again at exactly 1am. So much for that. See you tomorrow

I bailed after Vertigo... couldn't handle the show. Man they've gone downhill. Can't believe I missed Sometimes... my favorite on the disk.

I bailed in the middle of the sketch after the cartoon. I didn't even wait for U2. By then I had forgotten all about the band. I found the cartoon to be offensive and unfunny. Offensive I can stand; same with unfunny. Both at once? Sorry, I don't think so. The sketch right after was about two male friends who were feeding each other in a suggestive manner. Also not funny. Not offensive per se, but I had seen enough. So I deleted the episode from my replaytv, and deleted the "replay channel" too. No more SNL for me. Hooray!

I haven't seen SNL in so long. U2 would have been worth it though. I don't think I've watched SNL since the days of Chris Farley.
