I keep meeting cool people

I have a lot of lunches. Lots. It seems like I'm out with somebody different every day. There are some people who are nice, but after lunch I get the impression that nothing really happened. Lately, it's been the opposite. I had lunch with a pastor friend the other week. His journey mirrors mine in a lot of ways. Last week, I met with a theology professor. Later in the week, I had lunch with Pernell, a guy I met through Resonate. Yesterday, I spent the day with an Anglican rector and his wife. All these people fed my soul. They are the real thing; they made me hope again. I'm amazed by the people I'm meeting.
There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal. Nations, cultures, arts, civilizations--these are mortal, and their life is to ours as the life of a gnat. But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub, and exploit--immortal horrors or everlasting splendors. (C.S. Lewis)
