Churchill makes me sick

Browsing at Costco last week, I came across the book Sir Winston Churchill: His Life and His Paintings. I flipped through the book, and the paintings looked very good. I don't want to be uncharitable to Sir Winston, but somebody has to say it. Was it not enough to be a great orator, to save the world from Hitler, to write books like A History of the English-Speaking Peoples, among other accomplishments? Did you have to be a painter too? Talk about an over-achiever. Stay tuned for a book of my collected paintings, coming soon.

I know just how you feel ..... about Churchill, I mean. I feel the same way about my family: I consider my siblings, and I think about their talents, good looks, education, and their contributions as firemen, teachers, pastors, parents, and so on. And then I look in the mirror. Scary!! And Patti has to wake up to that every morning! ;)

Arthur: I agree that it would be scary to wake up to you every morning ;). But comparisons between family members are crazy. We can't all be as good looking as Kevin, right?

Or as brilliant as David, right? :^0 Above comment was made with tongue firmly in cheek, Bro., although I AM inordinately proud of my siblings and their accomplishments. If I cannot poke a little fun at myself, I tend to take myself too seriously. I believe I am on the path that God has ordained for me. Haven't arrived at my ultimate destination yet, but I am on my way.
