This post is from the defunct blog "Dying Church"

From Relevant Magazine:

Wow, there's somebody with a positive attitude eh? What did he eat for breakfast? And the language, that's helpful eh? It all sounds just a little self-centered to me

I wouldn't say he has a bad attitude. I think we need to hear and learn from people like him. There are a lot of them out there. What would Jesus say about the church? If Revelation 2 and 3 are examples, it wouldn't be all good.

damn them all to hell when people decide they want to be real, "eh"? Looks to me as if he's stating that solely depending on other sources (aka - the church) as our driving motivator for serving God doesnt work because of imperfections. When it all comes down to it, each of us individually have to make a decision to serve Christ no matter what. And even in his resolve, despite not being happy with the over all condition with Church, he shows that he still needs to put some trust there... Because the church, no matter how screwed up and in its current weakened state, is STILL a tool from God, both for the saved and lost.
