Birchington-on-Sea, Kent, England

birchington.jpg This is from the good people at GetMapping. It's my Dad's village. You can see the English Channel at the top of the picture, and believe it or not, you can even see my Dad's house on the high resolution copy that's hanging in my living room. It's been almost a year since I saw Dad. I'm sort of missing him.

I was born and bred in Birchington and would suggest it can't be the English channel, must be the North sea! Andrea

Is the North Sea in southern England? I'm learning something new.

Hi Tom, I was just there last month. My Dad has now moved, but I think we'll be back to Birchington sometime in the summer. I do like the feel of the town.

Hi Darryl I'm writing from Queensland, Australia & l]asking for some help to track down an old schoolfriend. I went St Augustine's College in Westgate with an ALISTAIR MARTIN (& he had a little brother - I think called Andrew)between 1979-1981 who was from Birchington. Do you know of the Martins ? Would you be ablt to assist & put us in touch. I'm coming to England next year & would like to catch up with some old boys. I realize this is probably a long shot but worth trying. cheers jose isnard
