Revolve NT

This post is from the defunct blog "Dying Church"

What does a dead church look like? It is a church that turns the Bible into a 'fashion magazine' -- think I'm kidding?
The Revolve New Testament - In focus groups, online polling, and one-on-one discussion, Extreme for Jesus has found that the number one reason teens don't read the Bible is that it is "too big and freaky looking." This fashion-magazine format for the New Testament is the perfect solution to that problem. Teen girls feel comfortable exploring the Scriptures and over 500 further-study notes because of the relevant format! ---Link Courtesy of A.Tsai who picked it up from JSY
A.Tsai repeated JSY's editorial comment, which I will repeat as well. "Oh. My. Dearest. Lord. Jesus."

You could also do a celebrity gossip format, or maybe a sports format for the jocks. Lord help us all.

I think that Bibles that are condensed into sub-categories for different age groups are unnecessary. What happened to people talking to their own children about the Bible in a way that their children understand? I am fighting the influence of the world in my own crazy dysfunctional life and wanting to die to self every day because there is that call to being separated from the world that refuse to die. Dying to self is more painful than anything the world throws at me as well as the cuhrch at time. People want complexity instead of simplicity in Christ and I feel like one of those old souls in this post-modern society. Someone please throw me a lifesaver.
