Soft landing

Soft landing so far in my return from vacation. Church was great on Sunday. As frustrated as I get with church (not Richview, but all churches) in general sometimes, I was glad to be back. God was at work. Josiah (age 4) woke up at 6:40 a.m. and wanted to go see a friend. I told him we had to get ready for a church, and he said, "Ah, church is boring." Hey, kid, you're talking to the preacher. Take it easy. After church we visited with some good friends. Good friendships are even better around good food, it seems. What a great way to ease back into real life. I spent today trying not to lose all the benefits of a two-week break. I'm trying not to get myself in over my head. It's so easy to lose time just to talk with family, to read the paper, to relax. I picked up John Eldredge's latest book Waking the Dead on my way to work today. Just started, but it looks great. Life status: good.

You don't get frustrated with Richview? Ever?

Sure, I get frustrated with Richview. I meant to say that most of my frustrations with the church aren't unique to Richview, at least most of the time. It's about how we do (and don't do) church.
