Solitude

This is in honor of my wife, who's leaving us tomorrow for one night. When we got married, she really didn't have a high need to be alone. That was before she had to look after kids 24/7, especially one who's been sick and miserable for the past couple of weeks. She's also pretty busy with some freelance work and other commitments. Tomorrow, she does for the first time what I've done many times over the past few years - in fact, what I need to do again soon. She's going to the local Anglican convent for a personal retreat. There's nothing like getting alone with a notepad and Bible for a period of solitude with God. It's a time for some inner work, for re-centering life. Char, I hope you have a great time.
